Rockband 2 Announced - Some Track Details

With Rockband only recently being released in Europe Harmonix have wasted no time in following up their success with a sequel. If you have only just sprung for the full band equipment, fear not, as it has been confirmed that all the instruments will be operational with both games. The new instruments that will be released will simply have a facelift and tweaks to the appearance.

The information was spilled after an interview with Harmonix's lead designer Dan Teasdale who additionally said that the game will "let you play your DLC in different ways.". His interview told readers that we wouldn't need to buy the new game as (all?) new songs will be released as DLC is planned to be released to the Rockband community upon release of Rockband 2.

As for what the new songs will be in Rock Band 2, it has been left as some what of a mystery. A recent poll on IGN stated what tracks readers would want to see and here is their top 10. Harmonix confirmed that some of these bands would be featured on the game, though would not state specifics.

  2. The Beatles
  3. Built to Spill
  4. The Buzzcocks

  6. Led Zeppelin
